Howea forsteriana, the Kentia palm, thatch palm or palm court palm, is a species of family Arecaceae which native to Lord Howe Island located off the east coast of Australia. This popular houseplant came to the Uk in Victorian times. It is known that Queen Victoria wanted these palms to be placed around her coffin when she died. It was also used for decoration in the movie The Titanic.
Our famous Kentia palm simply adds a tropical appeal inside the home. They are hardy and easy to maintain houseplants. It’s a slow grower that grows up to an ultimate indoor height of around 2 to 3 metres. The plant has tall, thin and single trunks with feathery, green fronds. It is air-purifying and resilient and it can tolerate some neglect, cooler temperatures and dry air conditions.
