The Umbrella Plant (Schefflera or Heptapleurum) is another houseplant that goes by many names including the Dwarf Umbrella Tree, Parasol Plant and Octopus Tree. Don’t get it confused it with Cyperus which is another type of Umbrella Plant altogether. An Umbrella Plant in your home or place of work should be very easy for you to take care of, in addition, it will help you out by cleaning the air for you. The plant is native to West Africa, Madagascar and the Arabian Peninsula, but widely distributed throughout the world.

The Umbrella Plant Care
Light: They prefer indirect light. Provide them with at least four hours of light a day.
Temperature: Average household temperatures of 18°C to 25°C are perfect for these houseplants.
Water: These indoor plants like to dry out between watering sessions and quickly decline if the roots are left sitting in water.
Humidity: Try to have slightly higher humidity levels. Humidity levels over 60% will make Umbrella plants thrive.
Fertilizer: Requires fertilizing from spring to early fall with a liquid fertilizer following label instructions.
Height & Growth Rate: Indoors, expect this plant to get 1.80 meters tall.
Toxicity: This plant is toxic. Keep away from children & animals.
