The ‘Lausanne’ is a stunning variety of orchids! It has low lying deep green leaves with beautiful sprays of white flowers with yellow centres.
Phalaenopsis, commonly known as moth orchids. They are with long, coarse roots, short, leafy stems and long-lasting, flat flowers arranged in a flowering stem that often branches near the end. Phalaenopsis are native to Indonesia and the Philippines.
If the orchid has finished flowering, cut the stem part way up, above the 3rd or 4th node. This leaves a long section of stem, and it encourages new growth from one of the upper nodes on the stem. During the flowering phase, water it every so often.

Watering: water the roots infrequently. Keep the flowers and leaves dry.
Fertilize: Use a water-soluble fertilizer. Apply fortnightly from spring to summer.
