Beaucarnea Recurvata has a very typical appearance, making it instantly recognisable. It has a swollen base that stores water and looks a little like the foot of an elephant. Its long slender leaves curve from the top of the stem-like ponytails. Because of this similarity, they called it Pony Tail Palm. Although it is a member of the agave family, it is called palm.

Beaucarnea Recurvata is non-toxic to pets and very easy to care for. This plant filters formaldehyde, benzene and carbon monoxide toxins from the environment. Pony Tail Palm does not need humid air and is an excellent choice for both home and office.

Pony Tail Palm Care
Light: The Pony Tail Palm prefers bright, indirect sunlight, however will tolerate some degree of shade.
Temperature: Well in average household conditions, will be fine anything from 5-25°C.
Water: Your Ponytail palm will need its soil to dry well between watering, and if you have any doubt as to whether or not to water the plant, skip it until the next week.
Humidity: This plant is perfect for low-humidity locations.
Fertilizer: Add a hydroculture liquid feed every 2 to 3 watering during spring and summer months.
Height & Growth Rate: Pony Tail Palms are very slow growing plants. Reach an indoor maximum height of around 2.5 metres.
